Glenn –
I purchased a 25′ two channel snake (EL-SNAKE) from Sonic Nuance a year ago, to use in an effects loop between my amp and my pedal board. The snake is comprised of two high quality instrument cables in a very durable sheath, triple reinforced at the ends of the sheath where the internal cables separate. My snake has a pair of straight jacks on one end where I plug into my amp, and a pair of right-angle jacks on the other end, which I plug into my effects pedals. The snake does exactly what it’s supposed to do and nothing more – I get a nice clear signal and no added noise.
After a year of regular use (at least weekly, sometimes more), it still looks brand new. The sheath material holds up well to being pulled on, stepped on, tripped over, etc. A nice touch that I appreciate is the distinctive yellow and black color, making it visible even on a dark stage. The ends are attached with obvious care and craftsmanship and even after countless plugging and unplugging, there is no fraying or peeling of the insulation, and, more importantly, no loose connections. They still feel just as solid and easily gripped as the first day.
The snake was a little expensive by my standards, but it was money well spent and I would not hesitate to recommend Sonic Nuance products to anyone. My only regret is that I didn’t order it a little longer.
